M Jack Electric Inc FAQ

Have an electrical-related question? We have the answer. Check out these FAQs and give us a call today for more information!

  • Why is there a service charge?

    Our $200 service charge covers the cost of sending a licensed, background-checked electrician to your home or property in a fully stocked service truck.

    This includes travel time, fuel, insurance, and the initial inspection of your electrical issue.

    Think of it as a doctor’s visit for your home or building — it gets a professional to your door, ready to diagnose and fix the problem safely and efficiently.

  • What does the service charge include?

    The service charge includes:

    • The trip to your location
    • A licensed, background-checked technician in uniform
    • A quick diagnosis of your problem
    • A clear explanation of the issue and your options
    • An upfront price quote for any repair work before we start

    Once you approve the work, we get started right away — no surprises later.

  • Why do you charge by the hour for diagnostic calls?

    Sometimes, the cause of an issue isn’t obvious — like flickering lights, tripping breakers, or partial power loss.

    In those cases, our electricians act like detectives, testing and tracing circuits to find the root cause.

    Because the time it takes can vary, diagnostic work is billed hourly.

    Once we’ve identified the problem, we switch back to flat, upfront pricing for any repairs, so you’ll always know the total before we begin.

  • Can the service charge go toward the repair cost?

    In many cases, yes! If you approve the repair while we’re on site, we often apply the service charge toward the total cost.

    We’ll let you know before any work begins so you can make the best decision for your situation.

  • Why don’t you give estimates over the phone?

    Every electrical system is different. Giving a quote without seeing the issue is like diagnosing a problem without an exam — it wouldn’t be accurate or safe.

    By seeing the problem in person, we can give you a real, reliable price and ensure the work is done the first time correctly.

  • What is “upfront pricing”?

    Upfront pricing means you’ll know exactly what the job costs before we start.

    We quote a flat price for the work — no hourly guessing games, no hidden fees.

    That way, you can make a clear, informed decision with no surprises on your invoice.

  • What can I expect when I book a service call?

    When you schedule with us, you’ll receive a confirmation with your appointment details.

    Your electrician will arrive on time, in uniform, and in a clearly marked truck.

    They’ll inspect the issue, explain what’s happening in plain language, and present repair options with clear pricing.

    You stay in control of every decision.

  • Are your electricians licensed and background-checked?

    Yes. Every M Jack Electric Inc technician is fully licensed, insured, and background-checked.

    They arrive in uniform, in a lettered truck, and are trained to respect your property and time.

    You can feel confident knowing the person working in your home or building meets our strict professional standards.

  • Do you guarantee your work?

    Absolutely. All of our work is performed to code and backed by our 1-year workmanship guarantee.

    If there’s an issue with the work we performed, we’ll make it right — no hassle, no excuses.

  • What types of properties do you service?

    We provide electrical service for:

    * Residential homes and condos

    * Multi-unit and managed properties

    * Remodeling and tenant buildouts

    * Small commercial spaces

    No matter the type of project, you’ll always receive the same professionalism, transparency, and quality workmanship that M Jack Electric Inc is known for.
